Lambuth University Selects StreamerNet For Live Streaming Of Men’s And Women’s Basketball Radio Broadcasts
LEESBURG, VA and JACKSON, TN - January 22, 2007 — StreamerNet® Corporation today announced that Lambuth University has chosen the StreamerNet Mobile Video Producer as the technology platform for live simulcasts of radio broadcasts for the university’s men’s (Eagles) and women’s (Lady Eagles) NAIA basketball programs.
Competing in the TranSouth Conference of the NAIA, both the men’s and women’s basketball teams are nationally ranked (men #5 and women #27) in the latest NAIA poll released January 17.
The first games streamed live were the victories against Bethel College (McKenzie, TN). The games were held on Thursday, January 18 starting with the women’s game at 6:00pm cst which was followed by the men at 8:00pm cst.
“Our nationally ranked athletic programs have a considerable following that is very active in monitoring our success in both academic and athletic endeavors,” stated Dave McCulley, sports information director (SID) for Lambuth. “In fact, alumni outreach and interaction is a key goal of our athletics programs and the ability to simulcast sporting events via an affordable streaming technology allows us to achieve considerable affinity with nominal investment of staff time and resources,” added McCulley.

“Lambuth University is one of the many institutions of learning that is discovering a wide variety of applications for live and on-demand audio and video streaming,” said William R. Hornbeck, president and CEO of StreamerNet. “By making basketball game feeds available via StreamerNet, alumni or fans can access live game broadcasts live anywhere they have access to the Internet. The applications in academic markets are rapidly moving well beyond intercollegiate athletics to fundamental curriculum and administration.”
